Small things that help right now

  • Slow your breathing: in through the nose, a longer breath out. Name five things you can see.
  • Tell one person you trust how you're really doing — a friend, a counsellor or a line on this page.
  • Alcohol and drugs, including the comedown after a session, can make low mood and anxiety worse.
  • A positive result, a scare, a breakup or stigma can hit hard. That's common — and talking helps.

Depression and anxiety are common and treatable (WHO).
