- Wellington Sexual Health, page reviewed 27 July 2026: the visit is free only if you meet their list, such as a Community Services Card, Māori or Pacific, men who have sex with men, gender-diverse people, sex workers, or a recent STI contact. You also need to meet New Zealand’s health-service rules. Most medicine is free. Some prescriptions still cost. If you are not on the list, they send you to a GP. If you are not staying in New Zealand, they may not do the HIV or syphilis blood test. Book first. Call 0800 188 881. This is not the hospital emergency department.
